Aki Takada was born in Tokyo, but has spent half of her life outside her home country. She moved to New York in 1998, and studied handbag design & construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). She is both the designer and creator of oktak bags and baby products. She loves music, art, dance, movies, books and great food: none of which she has been able to enjoy much since her kids were born.

Yuki Fuji, also a Tokyoite, is now on maternity leave for her second child. She is in charge of managing the website. She is a fervent admirer of Dr. Seuss.
